Aunt Minnie said the doctor—Dr. Jay Andrews—would meet the stagecoach and bring them to her home. But where is the doctor? When the doctor does arrive, he is nothing like Laura expected.
Dr. Jay Andrews moved to Plymouth to “escape” after caring for the wounded during the Civil War. Even here, he finds himself with a young paralyzed patient—Eliza Evans. He plans to help her in anyway he can...that is if Laura will allow him to. They don't agree on the care to be given Eliza on many levels. Will they call a “truce” and work together to do what is best for Eliza or forever be at odds? And what of Eliza, what does she want?
This is a heartwarming, sweet story with characters facing the same struggles we often face; self-doubt, forgiveness—even of oneself, redemption, learning to trust again, a strong faith in God, romance and love. Aunt Minnie is a great character and soon became one of my favorites. I really enjoyed reading Laura and Jay's story.

Very good read.
Laura and her sisters lives were forever changed by an accident that left Eliza paralyzed. Dr Jay hopes to give each sister more freedom while possibly finding love's freedom for himself.
TOBOGGANING FOR TWO is part of the Love's Sporting Chance collection written by different authors. Laura is a caregiver for her paralyzed sister, but she is unwilling to let Eliza try to take care of herself. It makes her upset when Dr .Jay tries to take care of Eliza and encourage her to work to regain some independence. Jay is dealing from war-induced demons of his own, and went to Nebraska to escape them.
I didn't grow to care for these characters as much as I would've liked and the story didn't seem resolved. Too man y loose ends. It is a sweet romance though. If you like historical romances then you might like TOBOGGANING FOR TWO.
When Laura & Eliza Evans move to Plymouth, Nebraska to live with their aunt and seek the help of Dr. Jay Andrews, they got more than they bargained for! Dr. Andrews cared for men wounded from the Civil war, Plymouth an escape from the nightmares he can’t forget. Only was it God’s plan to bring these three together for a greater purpose?
Eliza Evans is left paralyzed from the waist down from a tobogganing accident, she wants a better life and clings to hope that the good Doctor can help her. Laura feels responsible for what happened to her sister, sequestering her life to help care for her. Will she allow the Lord to heal both her spirit & heart?
This was a sweet story of healing, forgiving ourselves of past hurts, & love blossoming. I can see the bond of the sisters is very strong, even I fell in love with both of them! All three characters have many obstacles to overcome. I loved seeing their friendship develop as they worked together to help Eliza. Even she began to blossom as happiness returned to her heart! A wonderful story all around. I’d love to see Eliza’s story told in a future book and get to know her more. This is one that I soon won’t forget, a story of hope in times of difficulty.…. hope in the Lord of course!

Tobogganing for Two is a heartwarming story! I loved the genuineness of the characters and especially enjoyed the chemistry between Laura and Dr. Jay. Aunt Minnie was another favorite as well! Tender and touching, I loved this delightful novella!
I enjoyed this heartwarming story of faith, acceptance and forgiveness. It is a reminder that in a split second, life can change. Accidents happen and placing blame or feeling guilty won’t undo what has happened. You must accept, adjust, amend and more forward. I love how the characters in this story have a deep faith in God. They are human with emotions that include self-doubt, seeking redemption and trying to move on. The plot kept me captivated, the characters are delightful, realistic and the dialog heartwarming and encouraging.
REVIEW This novella is a quick, easy-to-read, enjoyable historical romance. It is filled with faith, second chances, self-doubt, and forgiveness. I loved Dr. Jay as he was definitely ahead of his time in his medical ideas learned from his experiences during the Civil War. Aunt Minne was also a delightful character with her wit, spice, and independent streak. The romance between Laura and Jay was rather quickly developed but that is to be expected since it is a novella. Definitely an enjoyable evening's read.
